Program: A Trunk Full of Curves and Sew Much More
Monday Class: Morning class - Bird Song quilt from ‘Mini Wonderful Curves’ book
Tuesday morning - Longarm class
In 1998 Sherilyn made her first quilt. She really had no idea what she was doing but just knew she wanted a king size scrappy quilt for her bed. After gathering her own old clothes, she then gathered up her neighbors old clothes until she had enough for her quilt. She pieced it, hand quilted it, and used it until it wore out. She didn’t even care that her points didn’t match! That first quilt was the beginning of her love affair with quilting. Over the years she has polished and fine tuned her quilting skills. Sherilyn is passionate about pattern designing and longarm quilting! A few years ago Sherilyn bought her first longarm, a Gammill classic. She took to longarm quilting very quickly and naturally. Her love, excitement and passion for quilting has multiplied since discovering the magical world of longarm quilting. She believes it is definitely the icing on the cake when it comes to creating a quilted work of art. Since discovering her new found passion of longarm quilting, she’s often heard saying “I’ll piece anything just so I can quilt it!”
Sherilyn is married to Mark and has two sons and one daughter. Within the last few years, they’ve added a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and 3 adorable granddaughters! She keeps everyone warm and cozy with plenty of quilts. Sherilyn and Mark raised their children in Central Florida, spent a few years on Colorado’s Western slope and are currently living near Logan Utah.
Sherilyn’s Quilting Tips: Doodle, practice, relax, breathe and stretch! Sherilyn’s sisters own Sew Kind of Wonderful and she has worked with them helping to design several of their patterns. Recently she created her own business, Sea Sherilyn Sew and continues to create quilting patterns and long-arm quilt for clients.
